Wellness Cup 2010!
12.15.09 The Wellness Cup is sponsored by the YMCA every year as a corporate wellness competition between major Treasure Valley area businesses. Idaho Trust Bank will be competing for the second time beginning in January. The challenge is based on a variety of health factors measured individually for each employee by the YMCA over the course of nine weeks. The staff is wearing pedometers for the 9 weeks – during the challenge. There will be prizes awarded to the employee with the most steps logged each week. Bank employees will be weighed and measured prior to the challenge. The staff will calculate their body mass index (BMI) and use this number as a starting point. Last year Idaho Trust won the Wellness Challenge. The bank had the highest BMI improvement of any other company and nearly twice as much as the second place team. The bank hopes to hold its trophy with this challenge. Idaho Trust Bank is participating in the 2010 Wellness Cup as part of the Bank's commitment to Work Life Balance and employee wellness. [top] Breast Cancer Awareness
11.17.09 During the month of October, Idaho Trust had 100% staff participation in supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Our staff had an opportunity to wear pink, wear jeans and raise money for a great cause! They raised several hundred dollars which was donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. If you know of someone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer, you may want to encourage them to check out the Angel Care Breast Cancer Foundation. This is a non-profit organization founded by a group of breast cancer survivors who reach out to women with breast cancer. The specially trained survivors have experienced all that these women are going through with their diagnosis and plans for treatment. They are very familiar with the labyrinth of fears and emotions that are normal after being diagnosed with breast cancer. For more information about the Angel Care Breast Cancer Foundation, please visit their web site at www.angelcarefoundation.org. [top] At The Shakespeare Festival
10.14.09 Idaho Trust Bank and Friends have been volunteering at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival for several years. Our staff has a heart for serving in the community and spending time with organizations that truly make a difference in the Treasure Valley. There's no greater satisfaction than giving your time and your talents to benefit a worthy cause. The bank embodies this philosophy and the staff is quick to respond when there is an opportunity to be a part of something so rewarding. On October 1st and October 2nd several bank staff, family and friends spent two chilly evenings under the stars at "The Shake." We had a great time! There are a number of different jobs for volunteers when serving at the Shakespeare. Distributing programs is a very popular job that gives those volunteers the opportunity to interact with the guests. Our team of Heather, Lisa, Reece and Heidi did a great job greeting guests and passing out programs. They saw friends, neighbors and bank clients as they smiled, greeted and provided programs to the guests. Laurie was one of several staff members who seated guests as they arrived. Kevin took pictures of groups as they were seated. Everyone loves the memory of a photograph when attending such an event. He was also in charge of keeping guests off the stage. It's always fun to be up front and see the theater fill up and feel the excitement build as everyone looks forward to the evening. He was perfect for this job! Glenn was the "wagon master" helping guests with their blankets, chairs and picnic dinners from the parking lot into the theater with the help of a little red wagon. Our two nights of serving at the Shakespeare Festival was just one of several service projects Idaho Trust has participated in during 2009. By the end of this year the bank will have served with the following organizations: American Red Cross of Idaho, Neighborhood Housing Services Paint the Town, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Neighborhood Housing Services Rake Up Boise, Boise Rescue Mission Thanksgiving and Christmas Events just to name a few. Idaho Trust is passionate about serving and building an even stronger community. We appreciate Boise and all the non-profits that make Boise such a wonderful place to live! The team had several on the roster and 12 players making a consistent appearance. One of the highlights of the season was a couple great come back wins. Thanks go to Mike Thomas who coached the team. Mike really appreciated all the help from Dalton Routh and Amanda Brown. We couldn't have done it without the help of Stan Fornander, Heidi Draper and Melissa Pruitt keeping score.
